Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 Means Increased
Energy Efficiency
It's the Law: Signed by President Bush on December 19, 2007, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 sets new far-reaching regulations on energy that become effective on January 1, 2009. The Act establishes compulsory standards for walk-in coolers and freezers, as well as a wide variety of other appliances and equipment.
Time for Action: The Act affects the construction of glass doors, walk-in panels, and internal lighting related to walk-in coolers and freezers. The responsibility to comply with the new regulations lies on the manufacturer, meaning that all STYLELINE doors produced on or after January 1, 2009 will be compliant with the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
Getting Technical: There are 3 primary specifications that will affect the glass display door and frame system
All Inclusive: The Act defines the terms "walk-in cooler" and "walk-in freezer" to mean an enclosed storage space refrigerated to temperatures above 32F for coolers and at or below 32F for freezers that can be walked into. This means that the Act applies to basically every convenience store, supermarket, and supercenter refrigeration units.
Times Are Changing: STYLELINE doors will comply with the new energy standards. Look for product updates that will increase both performance and energy efficiency.
